History

Executives Available Inc. is a private, non-profit organization that was founded by Father T. McEntee in 1977. At the time, several unemployed management professionals were having difficulty relocating in the workforce and resources were unavailable to assist them in finding positions. By working together, they were successful in achieving desired results within a shorter period of time.

The organization, which was self-supporting for twenty years, eventually partnered with the federal government, and subsequently Emploi Québec, to provide employment search services to a greater number of individuals regardless of ethnicity, creed, or language. The partnership was successful and continues to this day.

Multiple mergers and recent cutbacks in management personnel have had a major impact on today's job market. The Executives Available program continues to help professionals return to the workplace at a faster rate than they could on their own.

Criteria

Our members come from different geographical areas. To join the program, they must be over 40, hold a university degree, or have significant experience at the management level. Members cannot be concurrently registered in any other work assistance program that receives financial support from Emploi Québec.

Services

Our services, which are subsidized by Emploi Québec are consequently FREE for those who qualify. We assist our members in finding a job by providing facilities and extensive career transition counselling experience. Our program begins with group presentations over a three week period and continues with quality individual counselling until the person finds employment.

In addition to these, there are 2 group networking sessions weekly where clients share contacts and leads.

Individual counselling sessions:

Counsellors meet with participants on a regular basis and assist them with the technical aspects of their job search including CV and letter writing. Members and their personal coach also discuss strategies, problems that may affect their job search, networking approaches, calls, and interviews (before and after).

Facilities:

Clients are encouraged to carry out their job search at Executives Available, which provides a positive atmosphere, a modern, well-equipped office with private work stations, telephones, computers (Wi-Fi), fax and photocopier.
